Part3 - More Than This.

Jess’s POV.

We all sat there in silence. Claudia and Tanisha had now joined Zayn and Tom. I was sat on Harry’s lap with my arm round his neck and his hand round my waist. “am sorry for all this.” Jacqui said breaking the silence. “is she okay?” Harry asked. “yes, she will be fine, need to give her space.” she replied. “now all you go to your rooms, or the cinema or the games room, were ever just go and enjoy your night.” she added. Everyone done what she said except from me and Harry, Nathan and Harley, Tanisha and Tom, Claudia and Zayn and Louis. “come on, on you go.” Jacqui smiled. “no, what’s wrong with Briony?” Nathan asked. “and what happened with her dad?” Tom added. “he caused us pain, and with me not telling her about all this she thinks am doing the same.” she said looking down. “oh, am so sorry Jacqui.” I said with the others agreeing. “Thank you but it’s in the past now, but you have to fight for Briony’s trust, he really did destroy her.” she said. “should someone go and check on her?” I asked. “well I can say myself, I shouldn’t be me, Tanisha or Jacqui.” Claudia said looking sad. “well, we all don’t really know her that well, we don’t want to scare the girl.” Nathan added. “wait, what about you Louis?” Harley asked. Louis looked up from his phone and we gained his focus. “yeah, Lou?” Harry agreed. “as Jacqui said before, ‘and you already know Louis..?!’ what’s that about?” Harry added. “looked, we know each other, big deal? I met her when she moved down here and we dated for a few weeks.” Louis said with anger present in his voice. Everyone seem shocked of what he said. “wow mate, really?” Zayn asked. “yes. It’s not a massive deal.” he snapped again. “looks like someone still has feeling for someone.” Harley said smiling. “that was a good few years ago, it’s the past am over her.” Louis said and went back onto his phone but Harry snatched it from him. “hey!” “go talk to her Lou.” Harry said kindly. “fine! But give me my phone back.” he said as Harry done so and Louis got up and left the room. 

Louis’ POV.

I wasn’t happy about being the one to go and check on Briony but I guess am the only choice, she pissed off at the ones she knows and she doesn’t know the ones she’s not pissed off with so am the one. I go up and find the Briony is not in her room, I went right in and I looked in the bathroom and out into the balcony, no sign. I looked into the pillows of the bed to see make-up stains, she’s been crying. I looked on the floor to see her phone. I started to worried. I picked her phone up and her last call was from her nan and she had several text messages from her, ones looking like she is worried about Briony. I put her phone in my pocket and went back down stairs and into the living room that we were in. “she’s not in her room.” I say. “what do you mean she’s not in her room?!” Tanisha raised her voice. “she not in her room!!” I shout and run my hands though my hair getting more worried. “is there anywhere else in the house she would go?” Harley asked. “no, I was always her room.” Jacqui said now getting worried. “wait!” I shouted. “what?” Harry asked. “the beach.” I said running and grabbing my jacket and putting my TOMs on. “what do you mean the beach? It’s almost ten at night and dark out, why would she be at the beach?” Nathan asked. “it’s her favourite place, and a specially at night, she loves the sound of the waves.” I said. “and the beach is just out the back of this place, there is a gate out the back that leads to it.” Jacqui said. “exactly.” I said running toward the back door. I run towards the gate to see it’s been opened. I run down the path and run towards the wall that looks over the beach and see Briony sitting in the sand close to the water. I jump over the wall and run towards her. “Briony!” I say in relief. “please, leave me alone.” she said struggling. “hey, what’s up.” I said careingly and sat close beside her. “Louis. Leave me.” she said getting up and walking away. I got up and stopped her. “Briony? You don’t need to tell me, we don’t even need to say anything, just let me stay with you?” I said putting my hand round her. She nodded and we sat back down in the sand and looked onto the ocean and the way the moon reflected over it. After over half an hour of the waves crashing agisnt the rocks, Briony has calm down a little. “my Papa’s cancer has returned and it has spreaded, it’s fatal this time round, three weeks they give him.” she said struggling through tears again. My heart dropped, her papa meant the world to her, he was like her true dad, can’t believe she has to go though this again. “Bris, am so so sorry.” I say putting my hand on her back. She gets up again and walks towards the house. I get up also and catch up to her. “it’s my birthday in a week, who knows if he’ll be here.” she said as we goy closer to the stairs. “hey, they said three weeks and he might even beat that, he’s a strong man.” I said stopping her. “the cancer is more aggressive Lou, I can happen anytime now, I need to go pack.” she said starting to walk again but I caught her hand. “pack?” I asked. “yeah, I need to go home and be with him.” she said with more tears flowing from her eyes. “look, he would want you to be here.” I say and take her face in my hands and wipe her tears with my thumb. “I need to go, end of.” “well at least let me though you a birthday party on Friday, recover on Saturday and fly home Sunday, it’s only an hour flight.” “thank you Louis, okay.” she smiled and we then started to walk home.

Harley’s POV.

I take a look at my phone to see it’s now eleven and am now getting worried were Briony and Louis are. Suddenly we hear the back door open and footstep coming closer to the door. It’s Briony and Louis. “babes.” Jacqui shouted and went and hugged Briony. “thank you Louis.” she added. “no bother.” he said and smiled. “we are all up and standing round Briony. “are you okay hun?” Claudia asks sweetly. She shook her head and went into Claudia’s arms and hugged her tight. “Louis? What’s wrong?” I asked with worry. “Jacqui, your mum called, Robert’s cancer is back, and it’s fatal am so sorry.” Louis said looking down. “Nathan..” I say and he takes me into a comforting hug and he kisses me on the fore head. I hate seeing people hurt. Tanisha and Claudia are holding Briony tight as she cries. Harry and Jess are feeling it to, they hated seeing anyone upset. Briony pulls herself away from there grip. “go to Zayn and Tom, I need rest anyway.” she said and hugged them again and they done so. I went up to Briony. “am so sorry.” I said with sympathy and hugged her. “thank you, your so lovely.” she said smiling. “it’s good to smile.” Zayn said and we all agreed. “I know.” she said. Jacqui put her arm round Briony. “lets fly home.” she said holding her tight. “mum this is your home and am not going home till Sunday since Louis wants to throw me a birthday party.” “but am coming with you to be with my dad.” “okay, whatever.” Briony said pulling away from her mum’s grip. “I’ll take you up stairs.” Jacqui added. “no, I can go myself.” she said and hugged all of us one more time before heading up stairs. “come on baby girl, time for bed.” Nathan said picking me up and lifting me up and taking me up stairs. “I love you.” I said held him tight. “I love you to babe.” he said kissing me deeply. He could make me feel so much better.

My POV.

Am in my bathroom washing my face and try and freshen myself up. I take the hand towel next to me and dab my face dry. I look at myself in the mirror and see my green/blue swollen eyes and redness, perfect. I put my long brown hair into a messy bun and I change into tracksuit bottoms and put a jumper over the top of me. I walk out the room to see Louis standing at the door. I look at him, making me start to cry, I walk over to my bed and get in but stayed sat up. “Briony, am so sorry.” he said sounding really down with a sympathetic look on his face. “no need to be sorry Lou.” I said wiping my tears with my jumper. “I do, am sorry you have to go though this again.” he said coming in and closer the door behind him. “well, I guess things happen for a reason, just something I wish I knew it for once.” I said tearing up again but I fought them. “by the way, here you phone, I picked it up earlier when I was looking for you.” he said coming to the edge of the bed and handing me the phone. “thanks.” I said smiling. “welcome, night Briony.” he said and started to walk towards the door. “Louis?” I said quickly. “yeah?” he asked turning back around. “stay with me for a while?” “of course I will.” he said and climbed into my bed and took me into his arms and held me tight and all I could was cry. What would I do without Louis? Was I wrong to let him go? No, it was for the best, he is here being a friend, that’s all.
